An ancient 15th-century river port

The village of Brucianesi, on the left bank, originated as a river port during the commercial development of the area that took place between the 12th and 15th centuries.
In front of Brucianesi, on the Arno river, is Poggio alla Malva, a ward of the municipality of Carmignano: until the 1950s there were no connecting throughways between the two towns and to cross the river, a boat tied to a cable was used.

The parish church of Brucianesi, della Madonna di Fatima or Nuova Chiesa di Santa Maria, built in 1954, preserves two 15th-century panels, from the church of Santa Maria a Lamole.
